Testimonials

After Tim lost his mother in 2020, we needed to find a new place for our nephew Tim to call home.   We wanted to find a place that was safe, clean, and would provide opportunities for social interaction.   We were thrilled to find that and more in Agape.

The transition was an emotional time for Tim, but the supportive staff at Agape gave (and continue to give) Tim the love, compassion, and support he needed to get through this difficult time.  For example, on the 5th anniversary of his mom’s passing, an Agape staff member and another resident took a walk with Tim to a nearby park, which was just what was needed on such a difficult day.

Agape also builds in weekly social outings tied to Tim’s interests, which Tim looks forward to.  When Tim and another member talked about going to Paper fest, a staff member took them both to listen to music one evening.  The picture of them with big smiles and wearing matching Paper fest t-shirts still hangs in Tim’s room and on his grandmother’s refrigerator.

We are particularly grateful for the staff at Agape 4.  The staff communicates and works well with us during Tim’s occasional behavioral challenges.  When concerns arise, the staff is quick to communicate with us and document what is happening.  The staff members are proactive, flexible, amazing to work with, open to suggestions, and always follow through.

Agape has exceeded our expectations, and we are extremely grateful!

Since my son Jake has moved to Agape 3, he is a much happier person. It’s not just the way they make him feel as an individual with special needs, but it’s also their attention to details. They are so kind in helping him with his grooming and making him, as he puts it, “look handsome “. Those touches are priceless. As well as ensuring his safety, they have come to know his personality. Recently, he had subtle changes in his sleep habits, and it turned out he needed medical attention. Thanks to their watchful eye he received the care he needed and is enjoying a full and enriched life. Whenever I pick him up for an overnight stay at my house, he is always happy to return to Agape 3. That speaks volumes for the people who work there, and how they care for him. Jake is full of life & brings joy to the world but would not be able to live on his own. Thanks to Agape 3 he can lead a happy, healthy adult life & have a wonderful place to call home. Jake’s family cannot thank Agape 3 enough!

Our son has been living in an Agape supportive apartment since 2018. The decision process leading to this was influenced by experiencing other supportive living models and looking at other options. We were impressed that Agape’s leadership was clearly committed to its mission, the longevity of the organization in the community, and that the middle management personnel of Agape were tenured.

We are pleased with the life our son has because of Agape. The independence he feels is priceless. His apartment is his home. It is where he wants to be.

In our view, the Agape staff epitomizes the word “supportive”. Daily, they go far beyond the tasks of helping with cooking and cleaning. They are genuinely our son’s friends.

We have found Agape responsive to our concerns. We are comforted in knowing our son is in a safe and enriching living situation and are deeply grateful for Agape’s exceptional staff.
